There's this man named Cedric. I've known him for two days and seen more life in him than most anyone I know. Perhaps it's because he's simply lived more life. Or because he skips the hi-how-are-yous and just says it.
"Are you a dancer?" he asked me.
"I was as a little girl," I said.
He smiled. "You still got it."
This was our second and longest conversation. Do our newest friends see us the best?
He laughs more in one hour than I have in my entire life. (I laugh a lot.) Every story he tells, every story he hears, he laughs. He laughs before, after, and in between. He laughs when it isn't funny. He is tall, black, and comes from a big family. He is from the south but doesn't have a chip on his shoulder. He doesn't impress yet leaves an impression. He eats things like fruit tarts for lunch.
Who is this person? He's probably someone's grandpa. I hope he's missed where he's from.

Where did you meet him? I picture him in my head and it makes me smile. I love people like that. They are so rare.
Is he an artist? I think I met him years ago through my mom...the kind of guy you want to adopt just so your kids have him in their lives :) You almost think he's an angel and not a man. I'm sure he has his flaws but the laughter and smiling and kindness seems never-ending...wonder if it's the same guy. Plus - with a name like Cedric you kind of can't go wrong :)
Jaime,
If this is who I believe he may be, you would have graduated high school with his daughter...last name..Taylor..do you think he is her Dad?
How fun! :D I love people like that. :D
He seems to meet the descriptions so far! He is one of my new coworkers at Whole Foods...during orientation, he drew caricatures of everyone in the class. Definitely a kind of someone you don't meet everyday. :)
If he was drawing caricatures, this is definitely Mr. Taylor. He once drove a bus for D20 and he always drew caricatures at the TCA family carnivals/festivals.We still have one he drew of Hannah when she was just 4 years old. He is truly a delight.
